PlanAhead

Be more informed about your fertility

It can be very difficult planning when to try to have a child. You may be in a job you love and can't decide when would be the best time for having a child. You may already have children, would like to have more, and are thinking it would be nice to have a break before trying for the next.

You can begin to understand more about your body's ability to conceive a child. One key component is the quantity of eggs remaining in your ovaries. The common medical term for this is your "ovarian reserve." The fact is, a woman loses up to 90% of her egg supply by the time she reaches puberty. Age is an important consideration, but so is your ovarian reserve.

What is your risk for having a low egg supply? Is your risk so high that you should consult with a physician before delaying attempts at pregnancy?

PlanAhead is a set of multi-variate hormone blood tests that gives you a predictive assessment of how many eggs remain in your ovaries, helping you to decide whether you should plan to try for a baby now or whether you can wait. It's a simple blood test, taken on the second day of your menstrual cycle.

PlanAhead is now offered at Overlake Reproductive Health. This may be something you should consider, no matter what your age. To set up an appointment, please call 425-646-4700.
